To be successful as Java Full stack developer you should have experience with:
Strong Java programming skills (Java 8+ features, OOP principles, collections framework)
Strong knowledge in Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring Data
Understanding of RESTful API design and implementation
Testing: JUnit, Mockito, Test Containers, integration testing
Build Tools: Maven / Gradle
Experience with version control systems, CI/CD: (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes basics
HTML/CSS/JavaScript: Core web technologies
TypeScript: Type-safe JavaScript
Frontend Frameworks: Angular (most common with Java), React, or Vue.js
Experience with relational databases (e.g., MSSQL, PostgreSQL) and SQL
Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
Design and develop full-stack applications using Java and JavaScript frameworks
Implement responsive UI components that connect to backend services
Create and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
Optimize application performance on both frontend and backend
Troubleshoot and debug issues across the entire stack
Design database schemas and data models
Create system architecture diagrams and documentation
Implement design patterns and best practices
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Develop comprehensive test suites for both frontend and backend
Integrate third-party services and APIs
Perform code reviews and ensure code quality
Write technical documentation for APIs and components
