Explore locationJoin us as a GenAI Engineer at Barclays where you will be responsible for building, implementing, and optimizing GenAI solutions across Data-as-a-Service landscape. This role focuses on developing RAG pipelines, prompt workflows, and AI-driven automation, integrating models with enterprise data sources and APIs. The engineer will develop secure, scalable GenAI components, collaborate with data and platform teams, and ensure high‑quality outputs through proper versioning, evaluation, and adherence to Barclays governance standards. The role is hands‑on, delivery-focused, and essential in accelerating adoption of GenAI capabilities across the organization.
To be successful as a GenAI Engineer, you should have experience with:
Implementing GenAI solutions using Large Language Models (LLMs).
Basics of prompt engineering, LLM API integration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
Strong hands-on experience in Programming Languages and Analytical/Critical thinking.
Proficiency in Python, which serves as our primary language for artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives.
A sound understanding of Oracle/SQL, database querying skills and Unix.
Experience with APIs and SDKs to facilitate integration and development.
Familiarity with embeddings, model fine-tuning.
Experience with algorithms for Synthetic Data Generation.
Competence in Data modelling and schema design.
Understanding of Data Masking and Anonymisation techniques.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Basics of Linux commands, Bash scripting.
Ability to integrate with CI/CD pipelines and GitLab workflow.
SonarQube for code quality.
Understanding of Cloud platforms.
Ability to work in Agile environments.

The role is based out Pune.

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.
