This position is for a Product Owner within the Cards Domain. The candidate will collaborate with a Scrum team as a Product Owner, liaising with business stakeholders to elicit, analyze, communicate, and validate features of new functionality. Responsibilities include maintaining the backlog, prioritizing and refining stories/features, and serving as a Subject Matter Expert with comprehensive business and functional domain knowledge.
To be a successful product owner you should have experience with:
  • Support the development and implementation of the product strategy and vision defined in the product roadmap and communicate them with the relevant stakeholders and the development team.
  • Monitor key metrics such as adoption rates, usage patterns, customer satisfaction (including complaints), and revenue generation to assess the product's performance against set goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of product initiatives with broader business objectives.
  • Gather and analyze feedback from customers, stakeholders, and market trends to continuously refine and enhance the product.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Lead the product development team in defining and refining user stories, acceptance criteria, and ensuring that the team understands the requirements and goals.
  • Ensure timely delivery of product features and enhancements, balancing scope, timeline, and resource constraints.

Purpose of the role

To manage product management initiatives and set the strategic direction. Provide support to the bank's senior management team, and to manage product development risk across the organisation. 

Accountabilities

  • Development of strategic direction for product management, including the implementation of up to date methodologies and processes.
  • Management of product management initiatives, including oversight of colleagues and their performance, implementation of departmental goals and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness.  .
  • Relationship management of product management stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third party services.
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures for product management.
  • Management of product management risk, including identification of potential risks, development of strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintenance of alignment between the bank’s product management and compliance functions.  .
  • Monitoring the financial performance of the product management department, including revenue, profitability, and cost control.
  • Conducting thorough market research to understand market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify market opportunities.
