Explore locationJoin us as aRelease Train Engineerat Barclays where you will orchestrate the delivery of complex, cross functional change across multiple squads and platforms. You will act as the servant leader and delivery enabler for our Agile Release Train (ART), ensuring alignment, flow, governance adherence, and predictable value delivery.You will collaborate closely with Product, Technology, Operations, and Transformation partners to drive execution excellence in line with the Barclays Change Efficiency Product Playbook.
To be successful as a Release Train Engineer, you should have experience with:
Leading Agile Release Trains (ARTs)and facilitating key cadence events (PI Planning, ART Syncs, System Demos, Inspect & Adapt), as defined in the Playbook’s Ways of Working Framework.
Driving flow & delivery predictabilityacross multiple squads/teams of teams, ensuring adherence to WoW roles, artefacts, and cadences.
Managing dependencies, risks, and impedimentsacross squads and platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise governance and Change frameworks.
Partnering with Product Owners/Managers and Architectsto ensure backlog readiness,prioritisation, and alignment to strategic outcomes. (Also referenced across WoW/role description sections.)
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Experience with Quality & Reporting frameworks, including dashboarding, metrics, Jira hygiene, capacity planning, and story point management
Coaching teams and leaders on agile principles, WoW adoption, ceremonies, maturity uplift, and continuous improvement.
Knowledge ofDatagovernance forums, risk processes, and required artefacts across delivery stages
Experience aligning with transformation teams, including enterprise-level cadence alignment, crosstrain collaboration, and strategic program execution.

Purpose
Facilitates and coordinates Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to ensure that multiple teams within a program are aligned and delivering value efficiently. To manage dependencies, remove impediments, and oversee the planning and execution of Program Increments. Foster collaboration across teams, ensures alignment with business objectives, and drives continuous improvement in large-scale Agile environments.
