Join us as a Tableau Lead Developer at Barclays, you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of Location Strategy projects to plan, budget, agreed quality and governance standards. You'll spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to revolutionize our digital offerings, ensuring unparalleled customer experiences.

To be successful as a Tableau Lead Developer, you should have experience with: 

  • Good hands-on experience in BI/Analytics, with hands‑on Tableau development & strong command of MS SQL Server: query tuning, indexing, execution plans, stored procedures, data modelling (star/snowflake).

  • Engage SMEs and product owners to understand requirements, define KPIs, data needs, and success criteria.

  • Build complete dashboard solutions: data sourcing, data modelling, visual design, performance optimization, and production deployment & develop and optimize complex MS SQL queries, data models, and ETL/ELT pipelines.

  • Build or consume REST APIs using Python or C# (OAuth2, pagination, retries, error handling) to automate and ingest data & develop high‑quality dashboards using Tableau (LOD expressions, actions, extract optimization, RLS/permissions).

  • Deploy dashboards to Tableau Server/Cloud; manage refresh schedules, CI/CD integration, version control, and automation.

  • Implement data quality checks, validation, lineage, auditability, and governance controls & monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure resilient, reliable delivery.

  • Solid understanding of data architecture, semantic layers, performance tuning, and dashboard governance.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • A self-starter with good communication & and stakeholder management skills.

  • Experience with SSIS/ADF/Databricks or other ELT tools.

  • Azure ecosystem familiarity (Key Vault, Functions, App Services).

  • Data lake concepts and enterprise data governance.

  • Knowledge of Operational or Technology Resilience domains.

  • Tableau or Microsoft certifications.

The location of the role is Pune, IN.

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure. 

Accountabilities

  • Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
  • Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
  • Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
  • Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.
