To be successful as a Test Automation Engineer , you should have experience with:
Experience with various messaging formats (MT,XML, SWIFT, CHIPS, FEDWIRE).
Experience of analysing project documentation to extract requirements, system functions and other features to be tested .
Experience of using test management tools (e.g. Jira) to manage testing activity and to provide testing metrics.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Flexible and pragmatic approach to changes on projects.
Experience of using any Test tool.
Scripting languages such as Python or Jscript.
Exposure to SOA (service orientated architecture) testing using various transport protocols (HTTP, web services JMS, TIBCO Business Works, TIBCO Business Events, EMS, IBM MQ).
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Extensive knowledge of Testing lifecycle and core testing process/techniques using different test approaches.
Extensive understanding of Defect management processes.
Extensive knowledge of Agile Test estimation techniques approaches and processes.
Extensive knowledge of Data/document management.
Strong Java, Selenium scripting skills.
Experience in Test cases writing in Cucumber / Gherkin /BDD.
Good PL/SQL skills.
Good Unix / Linux skills.
Exposure to middleware automation.
Good BDD/Cucumber Automation tool/framework knowledge.
Understanding of Lean S/W Development Fundamentals.
Understanding of Object Oriented Design.
Understanding of Design Pattern Library.

The role is based out of Pune.
Purpose of the role
To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, to ensure software quality and reliability.
