VP Engineering Lead

This role is accountable for leading theSalesforce engineering capability as a strategic enterprise platform, championing scalable, secure, and high‑quality delivery aligned to business outcomes.

Working closely with Product Owners, Architecture, Data Engineering, Security, Operations, and senior business stakeholders, you will drive the evolution of Salesforce as a core system supporting for CRM journeys. You will lead engineering teams and partners to deliver value through agile delivery models, while ensuring strong governance, risk management, and platform integrity in a regulated environment.

You will lead the ongoing transformation of Salesforce capabilities, championing user and customer needs, engineering excellence, and a collaborative, data‑led way of working. Ensuring compliance, resilience, and control in service delivery is a key responsibility of this role.

To be successful as a VP Engineering Manager – Salesforce Lead, you should have experience with:

• Senior engineering leadership experience deliveringlarge‑scale Salesforce platforms (Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, custom platform capabilities) in complex enterprise environments.

• Strong stakeholder management skills, working withglobal business leads, product teams, and technology partners to align strategy and execution.

• Hands‑on experience leadingplatform transformation, modernisation, and technical debt reduction, with a strong focus on scalability and reuse.

• Ownership ofend‑to‑end Salesforce architecture, including integrations, data flows, security, CI/CD, and environment strategy.

• Leading delivery across Salesforce platforms throughagile engineering teams, guiding prioritisation, managing dependencies, and ensuring predictable outcomes.

• Establishing and enforcingplatform governance, risk, and control frameworks, including release management, access control, and audit readiness.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
