Overall purpose of role

Lead the APACME Regional Transformation Programme by driving a cohesive transformation agenda focusing on strategic platform build-outs across Singapore and other APACME markets. The role is responsible for coordinating complex workstreams, aligning regional execution with global strategy, and ensuring holistic support across technology, compliance, HR, finance, risk, and operations to ensure successful platform build and migration using a Model Bank approach. This role empowers cross-functional teams to perform and delivers against measurable transformation outcomes.

Success in this role requires a proven track record of global transformation enablement, strategic planning and execution, and collaboration with product and coverage teams on development agendas and thought leadership. The candidate must also demonstrate expertise in structuring transformation programmes at a senior and global level, along with excellent working knowledge of broader Transaction Banking solutions across payments, FX, liquidity, and trade & working capital.

Key Accountabilities

This is an influential leadership role with direct reporting line and accountability to the Regional Head of GTB, responsible for:

Programme Leadership & Strategy

Align regional execution with global strategy, ensuring delivery confidence and strategic outcomes.

Lead the APACME transformation by embedding client-centricity, optimizing cost structures, scaling delivery capabilities, and unlocking commercial value. Ensure timely approvals for resourcing and funding and drive on-schedule execution to achieve strategic business outcomes.

Operating Model & Delivery Oversight

Implement a cross functional operating model with centralized coordination. Balance product/platform ownership with transformation oversight across various geographies including India, UAE, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Gift City, leveraging the Model Bank framework.

Workstream & Migration Management

Oversee multiple workstreams covering platform migration, compliance, and operational integration. Coordinate interlocked plans and maintain realistic delivery timelines to avoid overloading new platforms.

Support Structure Development

Build and sustain holistic support models across technology, compliance, HR, finance, risk, and operations. Ensure dedicated subject matter experts are embedded within workstreams to support transformation delivery.

Stakeholder Engagement & Governance

Influence senior stakeholders across regions to align on priorities and outcomes. Maintain transparency in planning and execution and ensure robust governance and risk management across all transformation activities.

Managing Director

  • Manage a large, complex area and take accountability for strategic direction, contributing to Group initiatives

Person Specification

Personal attributes essential to performing role including competencies, expertise, knowledge, and experience. 

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with regional platform migrations and compliance integration.
  • Deep understanding of Transaction Banking products, with strong working knowledge of broader client solutions.
  • Prior exposure to Barclays transformation initiatives or similar frameworks.
  • Ability to navigate matrixed environments and drive cross-functional outcomes.
  • Ability to drive a transformation culture across the organisation, with proven expertise in influencing senior stakeholders at all levels to align on strategic priorities, delivery outcomes and support models.

Purpose of the role

To manage a specific product or portfolio and set the strategic direction. Provide support to the bank's senior management team, and to manage product development risk across the organisation. 

Accountabilities

  • Development of strategic direction for a specific product or portfolio, including the implementation of up to date methodologies and processes.
  • Management of a specific product or portfolio, including oversight of colleagues and their performance, implementation of departmental goals and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness.  .
  • Relationship management of specific product or portfolio stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third party services.
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures for the specific product or portfolio.
  • Management of specific product or portfolio risk, including identification of potential risks, development of strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintenance of alignment between the bank’s specific product or portfolio and compliance functions.  .
  • Monitoring the financial performance of the specific product or portfolio, including revenue, profitability, and cost control.
  • Conducting thorough market research to understand market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify market opportunities.
