The Private Bank supports HNW, UHNW and Family Office banking, investment and credit needs through a dedicated Private Banker and team of investment and wealth specialists. With offices in London, Monaco, Switzerland, India, Dubai and Singapore, the Private Bank offers our international client base access to a fully bespoke service. The business is high growth and significantly invested in delivering high touch personal services and creative client solutions with access to the Corporate and Investment Bank. More complex products are available through the Private Bank, including structured credit, derivative margin trading and access to trading desks for equity, fixed income and FX products.
This is an exciting opportunity to join Barclays as VP Investment Advisor, Private Bank. You will be the conduit into investments for Private Bankers and clients. While partnering Private Bankers in supporting client investment needs, you will provide the technical strength assessing the needs and risk appetite for clients and translate this into proposals for overall asset allocation, specific products, and investment services. You will also follow up on the investments made in order to give the client, together with the Private Banker an ongoing level of investment advice which stands out in the competitive wealth management environment. With active goals and objectives, you will proactively and substantially acquire profitable new investment business and increase existing client wallet share. Your interaction with clients will serve as an additional channel to provide feedback to product specialist teams in order to further customise our product proposition to client needs, with opportunities to collaborate closely across all infrastructure areas and internal stakeholders.

To be successful for the role, candidates should possess the following skills or experience:
- In-depth and broad investment product knowledge as well as a strong understanding of broad asset allocation issues and can assimilate complex investment information.
- Technical skills and experience with respect to formulating investment strategies and solutions across asset classes including Equities, Fixed Income, FX and Alternatives as well as via Mandates, Funds and Structured products & Derivatives.
- Good Basic understanding of wealth and estate planning issues.
- Extensive experience working in investment advisory, portfolio management or sell-side global markets. Additional finance qualification (CFA, MBA, CAIA) highly desirable.
- Superior communication skills and a proven record for closing, with the ability to match clients’ investment needs to appropriate proposition and product set.
- An entrepreneurial mindset, with a pragmatic ‘can-do’ attitude and be proactive and flexible in accordance with the changing environment.
- Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills. Additional languages skills are viewed favorably.

Purpose of the role
To develop and manage the success of specific financial products and services, providing in-depth expertise on a particular product line, bridging the gap between product development, marketing, sales, and customer service.
Accountabilities
- Provision of SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks and compliance.
- Understanding of market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, and analysis of data obtained from sales figures and, customer feedback, to support the product development process, and communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders to improve product offerings.
- Response to customer inquiries, attend client meetings and obtain a detailed understanding of complex personal / corporate financial circumstances in order to provide options for suitable product solutions. Support with resolution of issues, and provision of guidance on product usage. .
- Presentation of the advantages and features of the product to potential customers, building trust and encouraging adoption.
- Assistance with the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as pitch materials and client presentations.
- Participation in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Participation in events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to showcase the product and generate interest.
