Step into the role of Taiwan Legal Entity Control at Barclays in Taiwan, where you’ll be mainly producing TSA regulatory reporting and tax returns for Barclays Securities Taiwan Limited. Locally, you will work closely with the local Chief Accountant on local reporting, and to develop and set up controlling tools ensuring data integrity and completeness for accurate and timely regulatory submission. Regionally, you will have direct interaction with FC lead in HK who oversights HK and TW Finance.  You will also assist Chief Accountant on regional Finance projects initiatives around reporting changes and controls, process reviews and system enhancements.

What will you be doing?

  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual management and statutory reporting
  • Handling regulatory returns to Taiwan regulators, TWSE and other regulatory bodies, and ensuring appropriate control framework is in place
  • Prepare and submit TW Tax filing to Taiwan Tax authorities
  • Assisting Chief Accountant in all aspect of ad hoc queries for Finance function or local Taiwan office
  • Assisting in statutory audit and annual tax audit and handling queries and sampling with external auditor
  • Assisting in compliance in local accounting, regulatory and balance sheet control policy
  • Engaging in various global Financial Control initiatives by developing an action plan and implementation strategy

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum University/Bachelor’s Degree with over 5 years of industry experience
  • Certified of Senior Securities Specialist by the Securities and Futures Institute ("SFI") at the request of the ROC Securities Dealers Association
  • Legal Entity Financial Control Experience and knowledge in the Taiwan regulatory reporting requirements
  • Good communication skills in both Mandarin and English to deal with local regulators and regional stakeholders

Skills that will help you in the role:

  • Experience working in an investment bank with securities operation is preferred
  • Product knowledge in Fixed Income/ Macro/ Bond is preferred
  • Big 4 with experiences in audit with financial industry (banking/ securities) AND obtained certified of Senior Securities Specialist by SFI will be considered
  • Exceptional people skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills

Purpose of the role

To manage the financial operations of the organisation, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting. 

Accountabilities

  • Management of the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements, and other accounting records in accordance with the relevant accounting standards, rules and regulations.
  • Support in identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial risks, and report on these financial risks to senior colleagues.
  • Development and maintenance of a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure that there is no fraudulent misreporting, and ensure the accuracy of financial data, including regular assessment of the effectiveness of internal controls addressing any weaknesses or gaps.  .
  • Development and implementation of up-to-date financial policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective financial practices across the organisation.
  • Management of the selection, implementation, and maintenance of financial systems and software applications, including collaboration with IT colleagues to integrate financial systems with other enterprise systems.
  • Preparation and submission of statutory and regulatory reports to authorities, and provision of support to other departments in their preparation and review of regulatory reports.
  • Coordination with external auditors and regulatory authorities in support of audits and examinations.
