Introduction:
The role is to be a Network DevOps Lead.

The role will require the engineer to be able to perform hands on coding activities.

What will you be doing?
•    Senior automation engineer in a team, providing expertise across multiple programming frameworks, languages and network and security products
•    Defining automation workflows in consultancy with platform engineers.
•    Ownership of technical project deliveries. 
•    Work closely with stakeholders and Product management to assist in creating and maintain the technical strategy and roadmap for Automation use cases
•    Key projects which the team owns:
o    Infrastructure As Code based automation
o    Firewall ruleset automation to an estate of over 2000 firewalls
o    Load balancer automation
o    Network standardisation through automation
•    Developing the automation framework according to devops principles


What we’re looking for:
The candidate should have proven experience with respect to Network or Infrastructure Automation preferably within a large multi-site global financial environment or equivalent scale service provider.  These could be transferrable skills having worked on public cloud infrastructure automation as an example.

•    Automation using Python and preferably Ansible
•    Experience in frameworks and databases such Django, Flask, PostgreSQL and similar
•    Experience in Event driven automation using Kafka based Event Bus
•    Experience in building microservices on Kubernetes/OCP platform
•    Experienced in REST API development along with API integration using an API Gateway 
•    Working knowledge of GIT, Jenkins, and other DevOps tools along with integration between multiple tools to facilitate user stories
•    Solid experience automating network devices such as Routers, Switches, load balancers, firewalls etc. Transferable skills in AWS or other public cloud infrastructure automation is also fine.
•    The candidate should have a minimum of a Bachelors’ Degree and or equivalent, in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecommunication Networks, Electrical Engineering 
•    The candidate should have a minimum experience of 8 years in Software development and Automation


Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Excellent understanding and hands-on experience with monitoring/collector protocols such as SNMP Polls and Traps, Syslog, NetFlow, Streaming Telemetry, NetConf/RestConf for state data, etc.
•    Experience of having worked with CMDB platforms and an understanding of Enterprise level network management platforms.
•    Experience of IPAM and SoR tools such as Netbox
•    Experience in operating in a Scrum/Agile/SDLC environment
•    Working knowledge of Linux systems in terms of daemons, services, file system, rpm packages, etc.
•    Designing and building full stack solutions based on microservices architecture preferably using Openshift for containerisation alongside python Django
