Basic/ Essential Qualifications:
Strong data analysis, validation, and reconciliation expertise - Demonstrated ability to work with large, complex, and partially unstructured datasets; skilled at identifying outliers, data breaks, lineage gaps, and reconciliation issues with precision and speed.
Structured stakeholder engagement for data-driven discussions - Able to engage confidently with upstream data owners, technology partners, and business teams to clarify data inputs, validate assumptions, and resolve discrepancies through clear, evidence‑based communication.
Critical thinking applied to data inputs - Proactively questions anomalies, challenges ambiguous inputs, and identifies gaps or control weaknesses. Strong ability to convert raw data issues into clearly articulated problem statements and actionable fixes.
High proficiency in Excel and data structuring; strong presentation skills - Able to design clean, scalable Excel models, automate/reduce manual steps, and present insights in a clear narrative using PowerPoint - turning complex data into concise, decision‑ready visuals.
Desirable skillsets/ good to have:
Ability to understand and simplify complex end‑to‑end processes - Comfortable working through multi‑step data pipelines and identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, eliminate manual dependencies, and strengthen controls.
Experience with internal data systems and tooling - Prior exposure to enterprise data platforms and reporting environments (e.g., internal finance systems, data lakes, sustainable finance datasets) is highly desirable.
Familiarity with sustainability and climate reporting is helpful but not mandatory.
Strong understanding of banking products and financial concepts - Knowledge of lending products, sector classification, and balance sheet structures will be an advantage in interpreting data and resolving business logic queries.
This role will be based out of Chennai office.
Purpose of the role
To provide financial expertise and support to specific business units or departments within the organisation, and act as a liaison between the finance function and various business units, helping to bridge the gap between financial data and business decisions.
