To be successful as a Lead Data Engineer you should have experience with:
Big data technologies
Expertise in Hadoop and its related tools
Experience in integrating Hadoop with cloud native technologies.
Data warehousing & Analytics
Teradata - Deep understanding of architecture , performance tuning and large-scale data integration
ETL processes
Proficiency in designing, optimizing and orchestrating ETL workflows
Ability to implement data integration strategies across multiple heterogenous systems.
SQL/scripting
Advanced SQL skills for querying and optimizing large datasets
Experience in Python/Pyspark or other scripting languages for data transformation, automation and orchestration.
Data Governance and Quality
Strong focus on data governance, metadata management and data quality across entire architecture
Collaboration & Stakeholder management
Ability to engage with business stakeholders, tech teams and data engineers to define requirements, align data strategies and deliver high value solutions.
Proven experience leading cross-functional teams to execute complex data architectures
Experience in Agile methodologies.

Cloud platform expertise (AWS)
AWS Data services - Proficiency with AWS data related services such as S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, Lambda
Cloud Architecture Design - Designing cloud-native data architectures, optimizing cost and performance on AWS

Strong understanding of data modelling - relational, dimensional
Experience in designing data lakes, data warehouses and real-time processing pipelines

This role is based out of Chennai.
Purpose of the role
To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.
Accountabilities
Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.
