In your HR People Advisory Partner (Assistant Vice President) role, you will act as a trusted People Advisor, partnering closely with colleagues across our global Colleague Experience teams to support the delivery of end‑to‑end colleague journeys. As part of the European People Delivery & Execution team you will partner with local management and support leaders along the full employee lifecycle, providing guidance on processes around employee relations, performance, absence, exits, contracts, reward activities, and payroll‑related matters. Working within a global operating model, you will ensure local compliance while delivering a high‑quality, consistent people experience aligned with organisational standards.

You will support People Leaders with day‑to‑day colleague topics, act as a key contact for Works Council engagement, and step in to cover operational and advisory responsibilities as required within our global matrix organisation. You will play an active role in process management and continuous improvement, contributing to international and regional initiatives, and ensuring clear understanding and application of HR processes. This role offers broad exposure across all aspects of HR delivery in a fast‑paced, international banking environment.

To be successful as a HR People Advisory Partner (Assistant Vice President), you should have experience with:

  • You will bring demonstrable experience working in an HR People Advisory or similar environment, ideally within a large or complex organisation (preferably in the Financial Service Industry)
  • You will demonstrate strong knowledge of German labour law and local HR practices.
  • You will have the ability to understand end‑to‑end people advisory support across the employee lifecycle.
  • You will bring a process‑driven mindset, with clear understanding of HR journeys and operational delivery.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

Your role will be contracted to the Frankfurt office.

Purpose of the role

To partner with business to deliver HR projects and programmes in alignment with the delivery service catalogue. 

Accountabilities

  • Collaboration across the function to deliver HR cyclical and non-cyclical activities such as: organisational design, talent reviews, D&I strategy, annual promotion processes, pay round implementation, succession planning, and other HR practices.
  • Project manage defined cyclical and non-cyclical activity ensuring use of project artefacts and collateral.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of project progress, including risks and mitigations and closing of project as appropriate.
  • Manage project implementation reviews and ensuring improvements are identified and implemented in line with customer feedback.
  • Manage key stakeholder relationships with both HR Business Partners and business leadership using business insights and knowledge to support delivery of key projects.

  • To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes

  • OR for an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
