Explore locationThis Vice President role will work closely with the Global Sanctions Team and the European Financial Crime Team and will also engage, on behalf of Barclays Europe, with Group stakeholders and the Group Financial Crime Team to ensure Group-wide initiatives sufficiently consider EU Sanctions requirements. You will be joining a highly performing team in a role that offers interesting business opportunities.
To be successful as an VP in the Financial Crime Team, you should have
Strong background in Sanctions
Understanding of the EU Sanctions Regulation landscape
Fluent in English
Some other highly valued skills may include
Fluency in German
Experience with US (OFAC) and UK (OFSI) Sanctions
Experience with regulators
You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in the role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
Purpose of the role
To identify and conduct the appropriate analysis and due diligence on Sanctions alerts to ensure the appropriate action is taken against customers and payment activity as defined by the Sanctions Standards and Restricted Activity Matrix, ensuring that the organisation adheres to all applicable sanction’s laws and regulations and internal governance, such that client accounts are not held and transactions are not processed in breach of application laws and regulations.
