Explore locationJoin us as a Compliance Assurance Review Lead (Vice President) within the Barclays UK (BUK) Compliance Assurance Team.
As a Compliance Assurance Review Lead, you will lead and execute assurance reviews to independently assess and report on the effectiveness of Compliance Risk management across BUK. You will be responsible for managing reviews from planning through to reporting, providing objective challenge to the business, identifying key risks and control weaknesses, and delivering high-quality assurance insights that influence positive customer and regulatory outcomes.
You will build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the business and Compliance, confidently discussing complex and, at times, contentious issues, influencing decision-making, and driving accountability for remediation activities. You will also play a key role in supporting the development of junior team members and contributing to the ongoing evolution of the Compliance Assurance function and strategy.
To be successful as a Compliance Assurance Review Lead, you should have:
Significant experience leading Compliance Assurance, Internal Audit and / or External Audit reviews.
Strong technical assurance skills, including risk assessment, control evaluation, root cause analysis, issue articulation, and identifying themes and trends across multiple sources of information.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders constructively and navigate complex or sensitive discussions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise and impactful reports for senior management.
Good knowledge of UK retail banking and the associated regulatory environment, including customer protection and conduct-related risks.
Demonstratable leadership skills, with the ability to coach and develop colleagues, foster collaboration and contribute positively to team performance and culture.
A proactive, self-motivated and delivery-focused mindset, with the ability to work independently, take ownership, show initiative and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Glasgow with 3 anchor days in the office.
