Explore locationJoin us at Barclays as a Group Finance (SME) to play a critical role in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing group finance systems and processes. Acting as the bridge between Finance, Technology, and wider stakeholders, you will ensure the integrity, accuracy, and resilience of finance operations at a group level. This role requires strong financial expertise, an understanding of complex systems, and the ability to provide trusted guidance in both business-as-usual and change environments.
Key Skills
Strong technical expertise in AXIOM, including configuration, data flows, and finance/regulatory reporting
Proven experience in incident management, with the ability to diagnose issues, coordinate resolution, and perform root cause analysis within finance systems
Solid understanding of disaster recovery and business continuity planning for critical finance applications, including testing and operational readiness
Hands-on experience with Axiom Controller View 10/11
Proficiency in Python and Unix for system support, automation, and data processing
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools, including GitLab and Jenkins
Strong technical skills in Autosys, Oracle, SQL/PLSQL/MSSQL, and Unix/Windows environments
Experience using monitoring tools such as ESaaS, AppDynamics, and ITRS
Good understanding of cloud platforms and their application within enterprise finance systems
Desirable Skills
Strong subject matter expertise in Group Finance, including consolidation, reporting, and control frameworks
Proven ability to translate finance requirements into clear business and system specifications
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge, advise, and influence across senior finance and technology teams
This role Is based in Glasgow

Purpose of the role
To effectively monitor and maintain the bank’s critical technology infrastructure and resolve more complex technical issues, whilst minimising disruption to operations.
