Explore locationJoin us as a Platform Engineer at Barclays, where you will require key engineering skills and wider capabilities to deliver strategy and maintain operational integrity to spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence. You will harness new technology to revolutionise our digital offerings within Foundations Engineering. This role is specific to the new strategic Container Registry and Artifact Platform where you will help modernise and protect the SDLC for thousands of developers.
To be successful Platform Engineer you should have:
AWS (networking/compute/storage), ECS, CI/CD, IaC (CloudFormation), and building highly available multi-AZ systems.
Proven experience in Java engineering, with a focus on backend and infrastructure tooling.
Understanding of secure software development, cloud cost optimization, and platform observability.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Experience with deploying vendor products at enterprise scale and maintaining N-1 upgrade path.
Experience with various languages and build tools such as Maven, NPM, Nuget and PyPi.
Understanding of package managers like Nexus and how to ensure secure scanning of third-party artifacts.
Experience of building and deploying docker images in an enterprise environment.

This role will be based in Glasgow.
