We're looking for an experienced engineer with a passion for Java development, test automation, technical leadership, and Agile ways of working.
To be successful as a Software Engineer, you should have the following essential skills:
Java, Spring Boot & Automated Testing: Ample experience building and supporting production-ready applications, REST APIs, SQL databases, and robust automated testing frameworks.
Technical Leadership & Mentoring: Proven ability to lead multi-faceted technical delivery, mentor engineers, conduct effective code reviews, and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Agile Delivery: Experience delivering iterative solutions in Agile environments, translating business requirements into scalable technical outcomes while adapting to changing priorities.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Technical – Event-driven architecture / messaging: Experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ/event sourcing patterns; can design systems that scale beyond request-response
Cloud-native deployment and infrastructure: Docker/Kubernetes, Infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipeline design. Understanding of containerisation trade-offs, deployment strategies.
Security-first mindset: Experience implementing authorisation and authentication capabilities, input validation, awareness of data sensitivity and general secure coding practices. Ability to catch security issues in design and code review.

This role will be based in our Glasgow office
