Explore locationJoin us as a Senior Data Engineer at Barclays, where you’ll be part of a high-performing development team delivering design, development, and testing capabilities for the PBWM Data Platform within the Data & Analytics function. Contributing to a multi-year transformation programme, your role focuses on building a strategic, cloud-based data platform, leveraging modern technologies such as Databricks, PySpark, and AWS to enhance scalability, performance, and operational efficiency.
To be successful as a Senior Data Engineer, you should have experience with:
Ample knowledge in Databricks, including development and optimisation of distributed data processing workloads.
Proficient in PySpark and Python for building scalable data pipelines and transformation.
Solid experience working with AWS cloud services, supporting the design and deployment of cloud-native data solutions.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Working knowledge of Java, supporting broader application integration and development.
Databricks Certification (advantageous) demonstrating platform knowledge and best practice adoption.
AWS Certifications (e.g. AWS Certified Developer / Solutions Architect Associate) demonstrating cloud architecture and development proficiency.

This role will be based in our Glasgow office.
