Barclays is seeking a talented Learning Content Developer to build innovative, multi-format learning solutions that align with our quality standards—upholding our brand and accessibility principles. This role also provides critical administrative support for deployment, maintenance, and stakeholder interactions within our Learning Design function.

Key accountabilities include:

Consultancy Diagnostics

  • Support of Development Leads in the scoping of business requirements for Learning projects

  • Responsible for production of proposals and documentation for individual learning solutions

  • Responsible for management and planning of own time in line with DL/Designer project plans.

Design Build

  • Responsible for the design of new learning solutions or maintenance of existing solutions

  • Responsible for administration activities required for assignment of Learning solutions onto the LMS

  • Responsible for designing learning solutions within the Learning design framework in line with internal standards

  • Support DLs/Designers in management of external suppliers

  • Maintain project plans for new solutions or programmes

  • Responsible for adhering to HR/Group policies and standards, D&I, governance and internal controls relating to internal activities.

Measure, Evaluate & Improve

  • Responsible for ensuring that the quality of learning design undertaken across Barclays meet customer requirements

  • Responsible for reviewing the evaluation MI from learning solutions and works with Leads to ensure continuous improvement of learning design.

To be successful as a Learning Content Developer, you should have experience with:

  • Learning solutions design

  • Understanding of instructional design, learning theories and technics

  • Financial Industry knowledge

  • Good working knowledge of delivery of full training cycles – from needs analysis through to evaluation

  • Project Management experience.

Some other highly valued skills may include

  • Experience of Digital authoring tools (e.g. Storyline, Infographics, Adobe Creative Cloud)

  • Advanced Instructional Design concepts

  • Stakeholder Management/Consultancy experience

  • Prior experience of working in HR Learning roles

  • Vendor management

  • Understanding of applying company Brand standards

  • Awareness of Barclays technical Accessibility standards

Location: Manchester

Purpose of the role

To design and implement programmes and initiatives that support the growth and development of the bank’s employees and leaders. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of training and development programmes and initiatives, including creation and execution of training sessions, workshops, and other learning opportunities.
  • Collaboration with HR and hiring managers to analyse the current and future development needs of the organisation.
  • Design and delivery of classroom and digital based training content, programmes and associated User Experience.
  • Management of onboarding programmes including training, onboarding materials, introduction meetings and providing support throughout the onboarding process.
  • Analysis of data and metrics to measure success of talent development programmes and initiatives.
  • Development and implementation of coaching and mentoring programmes, train the trainer programmes for facilitators and relevant educational materials.
  • Develop and implement talent pipelining processes, identifying, managing, progressing and promoting talent capability across the bank with succession management and career progression’.
