Explore locationJoin us as a Vice President in Business Oversight Compliance (BOC) at Barclays London where you will provide senior compliance oversight and challenge to Barclays Investment Managers (BIM), supporting its portfolio management, ESG integration, product governance, and cross‑border distribution activities.
You will serve as a key adviser to senior stakeholders across BIM’s London hub, ensuring that the business meets regulatory expectations, internal standards, and the highest conduct, governance, and stewardship principles. The VP will independently identify risk themes, drive remediation, influence governance outcomes, and act as a subject‑matter authority in investment‑management‑related compliance matters.
To be successful as Barclays Investment Management Business Oversight Compliance VP, the ideal candidate must have:
Significant prior experience in Compliance (or Legal/Risk) in an investment management, asset management, or markets environment.
Deep understanding of investment products, portfolio management, derivatives, and fund structures.
Strong command of ESG regulatory frameworks (SFDR, SDR, article classifications, client disclosures).
Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and participate in complex governance forums.
Strong judgment and the ability to balance regulatory expectations with strategic business priorities.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting Board‑level documents or regulatory content.
Strong prioritisation and organisational skills, capable of driving multiple workstreams with minimal oversight.
Some other highly valued skills to have:
Experience with cross‑border marketing governance across EMEA/APAC.
Prior involvement in stewardship reporting or sustainable finance governance.
Knowledge of product governance frameworks, MAW/NAPA approval pipelines, and Markets‑style compliance processes.
Familiarity with BIM’s structure, operating model, and agency‑execution framework.
This role is based in London with 3 flexible anchor days in the office.

Purpose of the role
To provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to evidence that the organisation is operating in a compliance with Barclays legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities.
