Join us in the role of Content Client Strategy where you will maximise the value of the Research product through the targeting and marketing of content to Clients and ensuring best practice in negotiating and collecting revenue. The Content Client Strategy team provide analysis and client intel to ensure Barclays Research is maximising its revenues from content, and effectively utilising resources (written content, analyst time, Sales, client events and data). The team typically liaise closely with broker liaisons/COOs/Heads of Research at buy-side firms on how we can best meet their research needs and gather their feedback on our research offering. This client intel, alongside analysis of consumption and revenue data, is shared with analysts, research management and Sales so we can 1) continually evaluate our performance and the level of service being provided, 2) ensure the payment is commensurate to the services consumed, and 3) identify new revenue and upselling opportunities.

Essential skills:

  • Proven experience within Client Strategy or similar industry experience
  • Strong communicator. 
  • Discretion and ability to handle confidential, sensitive, and legally privileged information.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office packages.

Desired skills:

  • Experience with industry data – e.g. McLagan, Greenwich, Institutional Investor, Coalition
  • Experience of MiFID II regulation and the research unbundling rules.
  • Sound understanding of research consumption metrics.
  • Working knowledge of industry systems – e.g. Bloomberg, Salesforce etc

This role will be based at 1 Churchill Place, Canary Wharf, London.

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks

Purpose of the role

To maximise the value of the Research product through the targeting and marketing of content to Clients and ensuring best practice in negotiating and collecting revenue. 

Accountabilities

  • Leverage data, analytics and feedback to understand our clients and competitive landscape; use the information to continuously monitor and decide where to allocate resources.
  • Management, continual improvement and execution of the Research content monetization processes and agenda.
  • Collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities and improvements to the monetisation of Research.
  • Identification of and driving changes to systems and processes to continual improve the delivery to our internal stakeholders and Clients .
  • Adherence to the highest standards of risk management and controls; identification of potential risks and help to develop strategies to mitigate those risks.
