Join us as a Data Analyst within the CDAO (Chief Data and Analytics Office) team at Barclays, where you'll drive innovation through data-driven solutions and contribute to challenging the status quo. In this role, you'll collaborate with Functional and Technical Leads, as well as a wide range of stakeholders, to perform in-depth business and root cause data analysis. You’ll focus on solving complex business problems related to data quality, lineage, controls and authoritative sources. By working with large data sets and performing logical data modelling, you'll simplify complex issues, drive impactful solutions and ensure alignment across both functional and cross-functional teams for successful delivery.

To be successful as a Data Analyst, you should have:

  • Experience in business/data analysis, generating outputs that provide clear insights to stakeholders.
  • Competence in using SQL for querying databases and manipulating data, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Foundational skills in data modelling and the ability to understand and deliver clear requirements for data-related projects.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Understanding the importance of data quality and basic techniques for ensuring reliable data.
  • Proficiency in using Excel and other basic analytical tools for data analysis and reporting.
  • Familiarity with investment banking products and services, with an ability to understand the impact of changes on different areas.

This role is hybrid and based in London.

Purpose of the role

To implement data quality process and procedures, ensuring that data is reliable and trustworthy, then extract actionable insights from it to help the organisation improve its operation, and optimise resources. 

Accountabilities

  • Investigation and analysis of data issues related to quality, lineage, controls, and authoritative source identification.
  • Execution of data cleansing and transformation tasks to prepare data for analysis.
  • Designing and building data pipelines to automate data movement and processing.
  • Development and application of advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and AI, to solve complex business problems.
  • Documentation of data quality findings and recommendations for improvement.
