Explore locationJoin us as a VP Audit Owner within the Treasury and Capital Risk Team, where you will be a valued member of the audit team who will take ownership for the delivery of the Barclays Internal Audit (BIA) audit plan. You will work collaboratively with others across BIA to deliver audits, while developing strong client relationships which are independent and be seen as a respected voice.
The Treasury and Capital Risk team in BIA are responsible for executing the audit plan across Barclays Treasury teams. The Treasury team covers areas including, Capital, Liquidity, Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book (IRRBB) and Treasury Execution Activities. In addition to executing audits, the team is also responsible for maintaining relationships with key stakeholders within Barclays Treasury teams through Continuous Monitoring, keeping informed on the key business strategies, plans, processes, controls and risks across the business area.
To be successful you should have the below experience:
Proven experience in either audit or a function which has resulted in a good understanding of risk and control activities related to Treasury and Capital Risk management
Experienced working in Global banks with teams in multiple locations, with an understanding of the activities performed with the Treasury and Capital Risk teams in a bank.
Strong understanding of key concepts and the evolving regulatory environment pertaining to Liquidity, Capital and IRRBB.
Qualification in quantitative discipline (e.g. Accounting, Auditing, CFA)
Other highly valued skills:
Strong understanding of the evolving regulatory environment and its challenges, including experience of interacting with regulators.
Excellent communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders using a variety of communication styles.
Experience of coaching and mentoring of more junior colleagues combined with a drive and willingness to learn and share knowledge with peers.
Experience in Treasury, as either an auditor or from working in the 1st/2nd line of defence.
You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role will be based in London.
