Join us as an "Analyst - Cross IB Data Scientist Client Data and Engineering” at Barclays. Where Client Insights and Analytics (CIA) is a division within the Client Data and Engineering Group that focuses on delivering analytics based on client data, including capital returns across CIB businesses. CIA partners closely with Senior Relationship Management, Banking, Markets Distribution, and Trading to assess the needs of Institutional and Corporate clients while ensuring optimal value creation for shareholders. 

To be a successful “Analyst - Cross IB Data Scientist Client Data And Engineering" candidate is responsible for calculating client relationship returns within CIB, supported by a suite of technology platforms that enable informed business decision-making. CIA also collaborates extensively with teams across Corporate Bank, Payments, Barclaycard, PBOS, Treasury, Finance, and IT to design and implement both strategic and tactical solutions. This broad engagement model ensures effective deployment of financial resources across Barclays International. In addition, CIA contributes client and data insights to numerous Pan-Barclays International initiatives, senior management presentations, and analyses for the Power of One Barclays (P1B) program. 

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, where individual supports the delivery of high priority, cross business client initiatives across Investment Banking. The person will work closely with senior team members, coverage partners, and technology to help deliver accurate, well-structured insights and reporting, particularly across strategic client areas like Alternative Asset Managers and Global Treasury Coverage. This is a hands on analytical role, suited to someone who is curious, organised, and comfortable with data – providing a strong foundation to grow deeper business, technical and stakeholder skills over time.

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Support high priority, cross business initiatives across the Investment Bank, including the development of reporting for strategic client segments (e.g. Alternative Asset Managers, Global Treasury Coverage).
  • Assist with ad-hoc analysis and deep dives across IB-wide client initiatives, including researching internal metrics, validating data, and identifying trends or inconsistencies.
  • Contribute to the delivery of the IB Client Data Strategy, including supporting the rollout of curated data products onto the firm’s strategic data platforms.
  • Perform data analysis, validation, and testing of internal and external data quality, consistency and usability for key client segments.
  • Prepare clear, structured materials (PowerPoint, Excel) that summarize findings and support decision making for business stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with technology, data, and business teams to help deliver agreed enhancement and resolve issue as they arise.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Strong analytical skills with ability to work confidently with data and translate it into clear, practical insights.
  • Clear communicator, able to explain concepts simply and ask the right questions.
  • Highly organised and detail focused, comfortable managing multiple tasks and keeping track of deliverables.
  • Proactive and curious, with a willingness to chase down answers and learn new tools and processes.
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills (experience with tools such as Think Cell is a plus).
  • Familiarity with data tools, reporting platforms or CRM systems (e.g. Analytics One, Eagle One) is beneficial.
  • Ability to operate effectively is a fast moving, evolving environment and escalate risks or issue when appropriate.
  • Self starter mindset, able to gather information independently and create a solid starting point for further analysis.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant discipline (e.g. Business, Finance, Economics, or similar).

This role will be based out of Mumbai.

Purpose of the role

To manage change projects that help the organisation achieve its strategic objectives, while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, in control and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. 

Accountabilities

  • Management of change projects within the organisation, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Development and management of project plans that outline the scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements for change projects.
  • Communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to ensure that they are informed about project progress and that their needs and expectations are being met.
  • Management of project teams, ensuring that they are properly resourced and that they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver on project objectives.
  • Management of project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within the agreed budget.
  • Creation of reports on project progress to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Management of project risks, ensuring that risk, assumptions, issues and dependencies are identified, assessed, and mitigated as necessary.
  • Facilitation of change management activities, including training and communication, to ensure that change projects are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
