In the UK Mid Corporate business area of Corporate Banking we seek to understand our clients’ objectives, opportunities and challenges, and work with them to achieve their business ambitions. We offer expert industry insight across every sector: from manufacturing and technology, to restaurants and law firms, working with product specialists to deliver the appropriate financial solutions for our clients.
As a Relationship Director you will effectively manage, develop and grow a portfolio of approximately 40 customers each with a turnover of between £6.5 and £50m or having debt requirements in excess of £1m through excellent customer service and deepening relationships. You will proactively maximise all opportunities within your local market, to attract and gain new customers to the Bank. Business development is a key focus of this role and the goal is to secure 2 (or more) new to bank customers in each financial year or deliver client acquisition annualised income contribution of at least £150k from at least 2 new client business relationships.
Essential Skills:
Client portfolio management experience
Successful track record of business development and acquiring new customers.
Exposure to Norfolk businesses with turnover in the £6.5 - £50 million range
Commercial Effectiveness: Including Client /Customer Focus and Commerciality
Control Environment: Including Risk Management
Business Skills: Including Delivering Solutions and Decision Making
Personal & Interpersonal Skills: Including Communication & Influence and Collaboration
The role requires a significant number of visits to customers at their own premises requiring a high degree of mobility.
Desired Skills:
Technical knowledge of lending/ Zeus/ GPT and post sanction fulfilment
Industry knowledge and understanding of key drivers for business owners
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role is based in Norwich.
