Join us as an “Analyst - Securitized Products” at Barclays, Securitized Products is a centre of excellence in facilitating client supply and demand for financing solutions across a range of assets, including loan portfolios and securities; products, including bridge loans, warehouse loans and repo facilities; and jurisdictions. Working closely with Banking and Markets colleagues, the team creates solutions for clients looking to finance back books of assets and non-core portfolios as well as the origination and acquisition of new loans and securities portfolios. Team provides a complete buy and sell side, advisory to execution service which includes origination, structuring, securitization, trading and distribution, with a focus on effectively managing and optimizing capital and returns.

To be a successful “Analyst - Securitized Products” Candidate will primarily support Resi Financing Desk US in in analytics, Pricing review and comparison, RWA review along with exposure and risk monitoring.

You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role requires supports securitized products desks, primarily securitized products financing in risk management and decision making by analysing and creating research reports on risk & performance of assets financed and improve overall efficiency.  Team works with stakeholders in London and US, and create periodic surveillance reports, provides forecast about trading books, provides analytics on collateral and works on automation using Python/VBA.

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Monitoring, Reviewing and analysing desk’s positions.
  • Develop calculation and verification models in excel using VBA/Python to calculate Borrowing Base for each of our position.
  • Work in MS Word and Power Point, to help team in summarising the output of the analysis.
  • Develop risk monitoring Map file to be utilized in our in-house platform for periodically tracking performance of our positions.
  • Monthly tracking of investor reports from existing deals and summarising the performance in MS Excel and Power Point.
  • Work closely with other members of the desk and supporting teams to develop portfolio management/risk/surveillance platform.
  • Actively review, discuss and communicate with supporting teams (market risk, credit risk, PC, IVC, IT) on risk reporting related subjects, provide independent opinions on risk estimates and justifications on behalf of the desk.
  • Keep up closely with projects' life cycle (incl pipeline projects) and fully understand transaction details, be able to translate them into measurable surveillance and risk matrices to continue improve risk/surveillance process as the business grows.
  • Development of tools to track RWA, LBS and P&L for the desk per trade and per business.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering with finance major or finance work experience.
  • Good understanding of Financing Business and RMBS/CMBS/ABS products.
  • Good understanding of Excel, VBA, Python.
  • Must have knowledge of Securitization, Loan originations, life cycle of Securitized Products.
  • Should be able to take complete ownership of the assigned processes.
  • Graduate or MBA from top tier Engineering/Business school.
  • Any progress on CFA or FRM is preferred.

This role will be based out of Mumbai.

Purpose of the role

Desk Analysts cover relevant sectors and credits and watch for news events.  Desk Analysts work with Traders and Salespeople to convey company and market updates internally and externally to clients.  Desk Analysts build financial models for the purpose of forecasting financial performance and evaluating capital structure opportunities.  Desk Anaylsts spend significant time researching relevant companies and their industries to identify emerging trends which will impact subject company performance.  Diligence consists of reading and understanding industry press, company financial reports and documents, expert interviews, and meeting with company management teams.

Accountabilities

  • Maintenance and updating of financial models, as well as client databases accurately.
  • Reports, presentations, and documentation preparation to support sales and trading activities.
  • Monitoring of market data, industry news, company news and assist in the analysis of financial information for trading decisions.
  • Monitoring financials and news flow for particular credits, sectors and general financial news
  • Using your understanding of fundamental credit to work with traders to develop trade ideas
  • Performing fundamental credit analysis on specific credits and developing actionable investment ideas for the trading desk
  •  Participating in earnings/company calls, building financial models, and maintaining trading blotters
