What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Quant Analyst AVP in New York, NY (multiple positions available):

  • Develop predictive models, statistical analyses, optimization procedures, monitoring processes, data quality analyses, and score implementations supporting impairment and collections.

  • Provide analytical insights and expertise that will help Barclays leaders and stakeholders make informed decisions, support existing trading strategies, develop new products, strategies and services.

  • Identify new market opportunities and build an understanding of the various models, products and technologies associated with the full scope businesses QA services sector.

  • Work with Quant Analyst Managers, the quantitative modeler role provides expertise in project design, predictive model development, validation, monitoring, tracking, implementation and/or specification.

  • Participate in the overall project design and delivery with Quantitative Analytics’ other functional teams and end-clients.

  • Produce robust documentation to ensure replicability of results and fulfil Barclays governance requirements.

  • Work constructively with other Barclays resources to deliver projects and validate, track, and monitor delivered projects.

  • Contribute to the broader Quantitative Analytics department through participation in peer reviews, terms of reference reviews, modelling forums, and ad hoc project collaboration.

  • Participation with stakeholders across the business to understand their issues, objectives and priorities; suggest and discuss potential solutions.

  • Present results of the models developed or other analytics to business owners and help to drive business actions based on the results.

  • Provide business with insights and recommendations to improve strategy and process.

  • Supervise 2 Quant Analyst AVPs to ensure high quality delivery of projects to meet business deadlines.

  • May telecommute.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $167,750 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $184,525 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, implement, and support mathematical, statistical, and machine learning models and analytics used in business decision-making

Accountabilities

  • Design analytics and modelling solutions to complex business problems using domain expertise.
  • Collaboration with technology to specify any dependencies required for analytical solutions, such as data, development environments and tools.
  • Development of high performing, comprehensively documented analytics and modelling solutions, demonstrating their efficacy to business users and independent validation teams.
  • Implementation of analytics and models in accurate, stable, well-tested software and work with technology to operationalise them.
  • Provision of ongoing support for the continued effectiveness of analytics and modelling solutions to users.
  • Demonstrate conformance to all Barclays Enterprise Risk Management Policies, particularly Model Risk Policy.
  • Ensure all development activities are undertaken within the defined control environment.
