Software Engineer

What will you be doing?

Barclays Services LLC seeks Software Engineer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

• Design and develop mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms.

• Build user-friendly interfaces and ensure responsiveness across different devices.

• Create and maintain server-side applications and databases.

• Develop RESTful APIs endpoints for mobile application interaction.

• Work closely with UI/UX designers to important visually appealing and user-centered designs.

• Conduct unit and integration testing to ensure the functionality and performance of applications.

• Manage the deployment of mobile applications to app stores and maintain code repositories.

• Monitor application performance and user feedback, implementing improvements, as necessary.

• Utilize monitoring tools to track application performance and user interactions.

• Analyze logs and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and resolve production issues promptly.

• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvements of the development process.

• Implement security best practices to protect user data and ensure applications integrity.

• Conduct regular security assessments and address vulnerabilities.

• May telecommute.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $136,500 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $150,150 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
