Explore locationEmbark on a transformative journey as a Senior FX Trading System Engineer – AVP. At Barclays, our vision is clear – to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. In this role, you will support industry-leading FX single-dealer trading and algorithmic platforms. As part of our New York Trade Floor Support team, you will play a key role in monitoring, maintaining, and optimizing the bank’s critical technology infrastructure. You will troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, minimize operational disruptions, and build partnerships with business stakeholders to ensure seamless trading operations.
To be successful as a Senior FX Trading System Engineer - AVP, you should have:
Considerable knowledge of electronic trading platforms and FX market workflows, including trade lifecycle management, pricing, and risk management processes, with experience supporting FIX protocol and ECN connectivity
Practical experience with scripting and automation using Shell, Python, and Perl, as well as database querying and scripting
Solid experience supporting and managing cloud-based applications and infrastructure, particularly within AWS environments
Proficient in using enterprise support and monitoring tools, including AutoSys, ServiceFirst, and ITRS Geneos

Self-motivated, resourceful, and highly adaptable, with the confidence to work independently while also contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment
Solution focused, problem solver with a good automation mindset, experienced in performing root cause analysis, enhancing service stability, and developing scripts and tools to streamline support processes and reduce manual overhead
Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and incident management skills, with a proven ability to lead major incident bridges, engage effectively with Front Office and technology teams, and drive issues through to resolution with full ownership and accountability
Flexible and dependable, with a willingness to support extended hours and provide weekend coverage when required to meet business and operational needs

This role is located in our New York, New York office.
Minimum Salary: $115,000
Maximum Salary: $160,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

To effectively monitor and maintain the bank’s critical technology infrastructure and resolve more complex technical issues, whilst minimising disruption to operations.
