Web Portal Developer

What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Web Portal Developer in New York, NY (multiple positions available):

• Apply agile methodologies to deliver various web development products by using effective research, solution engineering, written/verbal communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Prioritize workload, understand requirements, provide timely and accurate estimates and proper impact analysis.
• Coordinate with testing, release, and engineering teams as needed, and assist development team with production support.
• Perform in-depth research and assessment of emerging technologies in their field and define practical applications for products.
• Review test strategies to guarantee the quality of the delivered software.
• Assist in the diagnosis of system problems encountered during testing.
• Work closely with the business users to understand requirements and deliver high quality solutions, explain new features and investigate reported issues.
• Design, develop and maintain both new and existing features for applications and ensure end-to-end technical solution to meet the required business outcome.
• Optimize application performance by profiling, finding inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
• May telecommute pursuant to company policies. [Hybrid role – 2 days in the office]

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $137,717 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $145,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to Barclays Employee Referral Program.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
