The Role holder will have to drive and assist Risk Function: Control Oversight team of Governance, Issue Management, and Controls metrics.Your role will require:
- It will be required to develop, improve, maintain and run key controls to ensure excellent and consistent risk management
- Ensure Compliance to Operational of Committee Policy, Controls Committee Standards and other
- BCF Standards requirement for all Committees / Fora
- Ensuring compliance with Bank’s Issue Management policies & procedures and Barclays Control Framework It will involve producing necessary MI and deep-dive analysis to arrive at appropriate conclusions
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- Graduate any Discipline
- Must have work experience preferably in Risk and Controls
- Confident and articulate with the ability to deal with multiple stakeholders, at all corporate levels including senior management
- Ability to multi-task and co-ordinate across multiple teams across various businesses and differing levels of seniority. And Highly organised individual, with strong attention to detail, and effective, clear communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review, digest and challenge a wide range of complex process, structural and system related information.
Desirable skills/ Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience of working in a Risk, Controls, Governance or Assurance function.
- Experience and knowledge of the Risk function and its key activities
- Experience with a data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau or equivalent)
- Experience in VBA / Python / Power App will be added advantage
Purpose of the role
To partner with the bank, to provide independent insurance on control processes and advise on improvements to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the bank’s internal controls framework.
Accountabilities
- Collaboration across the bank to maintain a satisfactory, robust, and efficient control environment through the execution of ad-hoc assessments and testing on the design and operational effectiveness of the internal controls, aligned to control policies and standards.
- Development of detailed test plans and procedures to identify weaknesses in internal controls and other initiatives aligned to the bank’s control framework to mitigate any potential risks and issues, prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations, potential losses, and reputational impact.
- Communication of key findings and observations to the relevant stakeholders and business units to improve overall control efficiency and provide corrective actions to senior managers. Collaboration with other control professionals to resolve complex issues and ensure consistent testing methodologies across the bank.
- Development of a knowledge centre containing detailed documentation of control assessments, testing on design and operational effectiveness of procedures, findings, and the distribution of material on internal controls to train and upskill colleagues within the bank.
