What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks VP, Cash Settlements, Team Lead in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

  • Lead Cash Settlements team in development and deployment of micro-services and processors that adhere to open banking standards and bring in industry best architecture solutions.
  • Work with business, technology, and designers to build new capabilities, platforms, features and improve existing capabilities and products.
  • Work on large-scale, custom distributed systems using Java Enterprise, Spring framework and messaging systems.
  • Drive designs towards scalable platforms, asynchronous, functional and reactive systems.
  • Contribute individually to code base with generic, reusable components and drive innovation into product build within the team.
  • Work on resolving business and engineering problems to provide customized solutions for end users and partners.
  • Responsible for quality of software and help address any customer issues or incidents.
  • Experience in Financial Services domain and Cash Settlements.
  • Lead API team towards continuous improvement, automation and learning as team builds and runs large-scale, distributed and fault-tolerant systems.
  • Drive development teams to solutions applying iterative methods to deliver software that enriches lives of end users while exhibiting high internal and external quality.
  • Articulate proposed technical solutions in Global forums and provide well documented artifacts for development teams.
  • Lead team in maintenance, issues resolution, support and performance optimization of the applications.
  • Onboard new partners and integrate services with partner applications and also ensure cloud infrastructure scalability.
  • Design and incorporate the latest service security technologies as per industry standards to secure sensitive data.
  • Manage up to 5 direct reports, overseeing their work to ensure business deliverables are met (4 Senior Developers and 1 Developer).

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues.

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
