Your role is tasked with assessing the underlying credit risk of existing portfolios, and ensuring the control and oversight framework adheres to the wider Barclays group policy.

To be successful in this role, you should have,

  • Experience with or knowledge of, statistical analysis from either work experience or academia.

  • Awareness of data extraction, manipulation, and considerations of data preparation for analytical purposes.

  • Experience in supporting the design of business lending strategies to cover core decisoning requirements.

  • Good understanding of governance and control principles.

  • Ability to apply personal organisation and commercial acumen to multi-task and prioritise across different activities and to be comfortable with change and a dynamic workload.

Some other highly valued skills may include,

  • Educated to degree level in a quantitative subject or with appropriate work experience to demonstrate a strong mathematical knowledge and understanding of the practical application of statistical modelling techniques and the management of these models.

  • Effective networking skills to establish themselves as a subject matter expert and a credible participant in model projects.

  • Good analytical skills, specifically the ability to digest and interpret technical material and present this to key non-technical stakeholders in a way that can be understood.

  • Data extraction and manipulation skills and understanding of data issues to prepare and validate analysis.

This role is based in our Noida office.

Purpose of the role

To manage and optimise the bank's overall credit risk exposure by monitoring, analysing, and reporting on the creditworthiness of its lending portfolio.

Accountabilities

  • Monitoring the financial performance and risk profile of the entire lending portfolio, including individual borrowers, sectors, and geographic regions.
  • Analysis of credit trends, identify early warning signs of potential borrowers' issues, and assess the impact of economic and market developments on the portfolio.
  • Development and utilisation of quantitative models and risk forecasting tools to measure and predict potential credit losses.
  • Performance of portfolio stress testing exercises to assess the impact of various economic and market scenarios on the portfolio's risk profile.
  • Definition and setting of portfolio, segment and customer risk appetite, policy and limits. Overseeing first line execution within these parameters.
