Business Area: BUK Customer Care UK

Area of Expertise: Strategy

Reference Code: JR-0000094929

Contract: Permanent

Join us as a Commercial Planning Manager where you will drive commercial outcomes across Customer Care, partnering closely with channel owners who retain P&L accountability, lead cross‑functional commercial delivery squad for Customer Care (channels, performance, data, product, marketing, controls) to translate commercial opportunities into executed and optimised activity across branch and contact centre, design and run campaign test‑and‑learn cycles, using data to shape recommendations on audience, offer, channel mix, timing and capacity. You will also act as a key commercial partner to channel P&L owners, providing insight, challenge and evidence‑based recommendations to support prioritisation and investment decisions, build clear, data‑led cases for action — helping channel leaders decide what to start, scale, pause or stop based on impact and feasibility and embed a ‘sales through service’ mindset, ensuring campaigns feel relevant and valuable to customers while supporting channel‑level commercial objectives.

What we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience driving and optimising commercial campaigns, with clear evidence of delivered uplift (even where P&L sat elsewhere).

  • Strong understanding of campaign effectiveness — targeting, conversion, channel suitability, operational capacity and measurement.

  • Comfortable working hands‑on in delivery and optimisation, not just coordination or governance.

  • Highly data‑led, able to translate insight into clear recommendations and trade‑offs.

  • Experience partnering with channel, product and marketing leaders in a matrix environment with shared accountability.

  • Commercial judgement to balance customer outcomes, growth ambition and operational reality.

Desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of distribution channels and how they operate in a retail banking or commercial environment.

  • A strong commercial mindset, with the ability to translate insights into revenue‑driving actions.

You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.

We are happy to consider those who can work from our Northampton, Manchester, Sunderland, Liverpool or Glasgow site.
