Join us as a Retail Capital Projects and Value Manager. In this role, you will join the Corporate Real Estate Services (CRES) Retail team, where you will play a key role in delivering capital projects and driving value across the retail estate. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards, while maximising value through effective management of supply chains and commercial performance.

You will lead the end to end delivery of retail capital projects, covering both pre construction and delivery phases, working closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards. Acting as a central interface across the business, you will collaborate with teams across Business Units, Technology, Finance, and Procurement to align delivery with strategic objectives.

The role combines project delivery, commercial oversight, and stakeholder management, requiring the ability to manage complex programmes, drive performance from suppliers, and ensure robust governance, risk management, and reporting across all project activity.

To be successful as a Retail Capital Projects and Value Manager, you should have:

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across internal teams and third party suppliers.
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills, managing multiple projects and priorities effectively, being able to make effective decisions.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience managing supplier performance and driving value across contracts.
  • Experience managing multi site or complex capital investment programmes, ensuring delivery against time, cost, quality, and safety objectives.

Purpose of the role

To manage and develop capital project proposals and operations aligned to the needs of the bank. 

Accountabilities

  • Management, development and execution of building, real estate and physical asset security projects and proposals, including workspace, engineering, and facility upgrades.
  • Management of planning, design, procurement, resourcing, reporting and construction processes to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Identification of potential risks and issues associated to capital projects and development of risk management strategies to mitigate them by monitoring risk exposure and taking corrective action.
  • Management of project budget for real estate and physical security projects by tracking expenses, forecasting costs and identifying cost saving opportunities.
  • Management of stakeholder relations including project sponsors, vendors, regulatory agencies, and the facilities management team to align capital project operations with the bank's objectives.
  • Identification of opportunities to improve the delivery processes for capital projects and implement best practices to enhance project performance.
  • Execution of capital projects that meet agreed quality standards, and are compliant with relevant laws, regulation, and policies.
