Technical Product Owner

As a Technical Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering critical platform capabilities across our issuing technology landscape. You will partner with engineering teams, senior stakeholders, and strategic suppliers to ensure delivery excellence while driving innovation and transformation across the organisation.

Essential Skills and Experience

• Proven ability to manage and challenge engineering and platform teams to deliver on time while maintaining quality and performance.
• Strong incident management capability, including cross-team coordination and risk-based prioritisation.
• Experience managing supply and demand across multiple delivery teams and stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to shape long-term roadmaps for applications and services.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior decision makers.
  
  

Desirable Skills

• Deep understanding of the Barclays Issuing technology landscape and alignment with CISO standards, controls, and governance expectations.
• Demonstrated track record delivering complex, enterprise-scale transformation initiatives across Agile and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
• Professional qualifications such as SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager (POPM), ICAgile Product Ownership Certification, or equivalent.

This role is based In Northampton.

Purpose of the role

To collaborate with product owners and other technical teams involved in the product development process and utilise their knowledge of the bank’s technologies to enact the vision defined in the product roadmap. 

Accountabilities

• Provision of subject matter expertise to support the collaboration between the product owner and the technical side of product development.
• Support the development and implementation of the product strategy and vision defined in the product roadmap and communicate them with the relevant stakeholders and the development team.
• Collaboration with internal stakeholders to gather and prioritise product requirements and features based on business value and feasibility that are well defined, measurable and secure.
• Development and implementation of assessments to ensure continuous testing and improvement of product quality and performance.
• Monitoring of product performance to identify opportunities for optimisation that meets the banks performance standards.
• Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improve product development and delivery.
