Join Barclays as a Credit Senior UI Developer, where you will design, develop, and optimize modern web applications built on OpenFin for Credit Trading and Sales. These applications are critical for credit bond trading, pricing, and sales workflows. You will primarily work with Angular and collaborate closely with UI engineers, backend developers, testers, and project managers to deliver high-performance, scalable solutions that modernize trading tools.

The role involves developing and maintaining front-end components for modern OpenFin-based applications while ensuring that all solutions are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability in high-volume trading environments. It also requires close collaboration with stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver intuitive, responsive user interfaces that support seamless user experiences.

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Strong proficiency in Angular or other modern web frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience with test-driven development.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage stakeholders effectively.

Some other highly valued skills include:

  • Expertise in performance tuning and scaling web applications.
  • Proficiency with OpenFin.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitLab.
  • Understanding of Kubernetes and cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of fixed income products (e.g., bond trading mechanics).

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
