Markets Change Execution Portfolio Manager
Prague

As a Barclays Markets Change Execution Portfolio Manager, you will provide drive, leadership, governance and oversight for all portfolio change activities within the Markets and Research areas in the Investment Bank. You will be responsible for ensuring high quality transformational change reaches the production platform on time, within budget and to the required quality criteria.

Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, established in 1690, with a legacy of success, quality, and innovation. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.

At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

What will you be doing?
•    Defining and managing the portfolio plan for the Markets and Research book of work
•    Providing senior management with insights into the plan, delivery health, benefits, bottlenecks and areas of concern/decisions requiring attention
•    Ensuring clear view of the critical path and major dependencies across the assigned business unit portfolio
•    Driving out a portfolio delivery plan expressed through business outcomes in partnership with the Project Managers
•    Validating that portfolio plans are achievable within the constraints of resources, budget and architecture/design
•    Providing views of Portfolio performance against Financial plans and targets and being part of annual budget planning activities
•    Ensuring that programme priorities have been agreed and that the portfolio is aligned to deliver these for the assigned business unit

What we’re looking for:
•    Excellent analytical skills with Proficiency in full MS Office suite, with good understanding of Excel functionality
•    Demonstrable experience of successful collaborative working, in a multi-function matrix environment, while maintaining financial and analytical discipline
•    Ability to master and navigate new subject domains quickly and to analyse and summarize complex information to Senior Stakeholders
•    Solid understanding of project /programme management methodologies and governance

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Experience in Change, Project and Portfolio management
•    Large scale project execution, governance and planning using a disciplined principled approach
•    Global Markets product or business process knowledge
•    Professional qualifications (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, CFA, FRM)

Where will you be working?
Our Prague office is based in the financial centre of Prague.  We are part of the Operations and Technology Division, and as such, we try our best to stay at the top of our technological game. However, the technology itself is not the most important thing. What matters the most to us is the way our ingenuity can help provide better service to our customers and make life easier for our employees.
