To be successful as a Software Engineer – Adoption, you should have experience with:

•     A strong technical foundation, including troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and a “show, not tell” mindset. We're looking for candidates who, whether in active development or not, demonstrate core engineering capabilities using Java, along with the ability to analyse data using SQL and data processing techniques.

•     Technical product experience and product ways of working: proactively championing the technology to be adopted by gaining a deep understanding of features, functionality, and architecture—and how each can solve customer problems. You should be able to understand the broader business context of customer issues and develop creative solutions, translating these into requirements and potential features. Collaborate with core engineers to design and build new platform features, while leveraging data to support functionality.

•     Relationship building, interpersonal skills, patience, and resilience: while this is a hands-on role, a significant part involves working with multiple lines of business. You’ll need to build strong, trust-based relationships by truly listening to and understanding underlying needs, pain points, goals, and strategic intent—while also diving into the data. You will act as a force multiplier, translating technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders without losing detail or accuracy.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

•     Authorisation experience and Policy as Code: hands-on experience with authorisation systems in large, complex technology estates, using policy-as-code tools such as OPA. Implementing policy decision points and policy execution, to implement RBAC, ABAC, or ReBAC security models.

•     Strong data analysis and cybersecurity fundamentals: applying a critical thinking mindset to how we tackle problems, using both data and security fundamentals to ensure best in class solutions and risk.

•     Authentication experience using Ping: hands-on experience with authentication systems on how authn and authz can be integrated and aligned to ensure seamless adoption of the end-to-end technology estate.

This role will be based in our Prague office.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
