To be successful as a Software Engineer – Adoption, you should have experience with:
• A strong technical foundation, including troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and a “show, not tell” mindset. We're looking for candidates who, whether in active development or not, demonstrate core engineering capabilities using Java, along with the ability to analyse data using SQL and data processing techniques.
• Technical product experience and product ways of working: proactively championing the technology to be adopted by gaining a deep understanding of features, functionality, and architecture—and how each can solve customer problems. You should be able to understand the broader business context of customer issues and develop creative solutions, translating these into requirements and potential features. Collaborate with core engineers to design and build new platform features, while leveraging data to support functionality.
• Relationship building, interpersonal skills, patience, and resilience: while this is a hands-on role, a significant part involves working with multiple lines of business. You’ll need to build strong, trust-based relationships by truly listening to and understanding underlying needs, pain points, goals, and strategic intent—while also diving into the data. You will act as a force multiplier, translating technical concepts for both technical and non-technical stakeholders without losing detail or accuracy.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
• Authorisation experience and Policy as Code: hands-on experience with authorisation systems in large, complex technology estates, using policy-as-code tools such as OPA. Implementing policy decision points and policy execution, to implement RBAC, ABAC, or ReBAC security models.
• Strong data analysis and cybersecurity fundamentals: applying a critical thinking mindset to how we tackle problems, using both data and security fundamentals to ensure best in class solutions and risk.
• Authentication experience using Ping: hands-on experience with authentication systems on how authn and authz can be integrated and aligned to ensure seamless adoption of the end-to-end technology estate.
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
