Java Developer

To be successful as a Java Developer, you should have experience with:

• Java 8 and above, good experience in Core Java, multi-threading processing, RESTful API, Spring Batch, Microservices Architecture

• In-depth Experience with Spring Boot and other Spring Frameworks such as Spring MVC, IOC, AOP, and Spring JDBC

• Good experience in database design, SQL query optimization, and performance tuning.

• Strong working knowledge of Unix/Linux commands and scripting.

• Experience with GitLab, source control management, and CI/CD implementation.

• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitLab Duo, Microsoft Copilot, or Claude to accelerate software engineering activities.

• Participate in solution design, code reviews, testing, and production support activities.

• Ensure adherence to engineering standards, security controls, and regulatory requirements.

• Optimize application performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues.

• Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA teams, and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality software solutions

• Maintain accurate technical documentation and support knowledge-sharing initiatives.

• Experience working on agile framework with iterative environment.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Banking, Payments, or Regulatory Reporting domain knowledge.

• Understanding of enterprise application architecture and integration patterns.

• Exposure to cloud platforms and container technologies (Docker/Kubernetes) is desirable.

• Problem solving skills.

The role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
