Explore locationJoin us as a Digital Product Designer at Barclays where you'll be responsible for translating business requirements and customer needs into intuitive, user-centred design solutions that deliver meaningful product experiences. You'll create user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes, applying User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design principles to ensure products are usable, accessible, and engaging. Using customer feedback, research, and data-driven insights, you'll identify opportunities for improvement and inform design decisions throughout the product lifecycle. You'll also collaborate with stakeholders across the business, confidently challenging assumptions and advocating for the best outcomes for both users and the product.
To be successful as a Digital Product Designer, you must have the following essential skills:
• Proven experience in Digital Product Design and/or User Experience (UX) Design
• Great proficiency in Figma for designing, prototyping, and collaboration
• Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs and business requirements into effective, user-centred design solutions
• Understanding of User Experience (UX) principles, design thinking, and human-centred design methodologies
• Experience creating and delivering: user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, information architecture artefacts
• Experience working within multidisciplinary product teams
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with developers, software engineers, product managers, product owners, and other key stakeholders
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Great communication and influencing skills, with the confidence to challenge ideas constructively and advocate for the best user and business outcomes
• Portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design work is required
Some other highly valued skills may include:
• Understanding of user research methodologies and user-centred design practices
• Experience facilitating and/or participating in user research activities, including interviews, usability testing, and feedback sessions
• Exposure to analytics and data-driven design approaches, using customer insights and performance data to inform design decisions
• Understanding of accessibility standards, inclusive design principles, and creating experiences that are accessible to a diverse range of users
• Experience using AI tools to support and enhance the design process
• Interest in exploring innovative ways of working and experimenting with AI-enabled design techniques
• Previous experience within Financial Services, Banking, or Mortgages, Savings, and/or Insurance environments
• Degree in Product Design, User Experience (UX) Design, or a related design discipline
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role can be based in either Manchester, London, Knutsford or Northampton.
