As a Scrum Master you will develop scrum principles and sprint goals aligned to industry best practices, and the banks objectives, to foster a high-performing technology team and support the successful progression on scrum projects.

To be a successful Scrum Master, you should have experience with:

  • Managing teams using different agile methodologies like Sprint and Kanban as minimum. Drive ceremonies like sprint planning, retrospectives, Stand Ups to the letter and Spirit.

  • Derive metrices from the boards and help team to achieve/improve maturity and productivity, Maintain Hygiene of the Agile Boards.

Additional relevant skills given below are highly valued:

  • Hands-on experience as SM/Delivery Manager/Program Manager in banking & Credit Card industry. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in an Agile environment as a SM role. SAFe certification (e.g., SAFe Release Train Engineer) is preferred.

  • Coaches and mentors cross-functional teams in Agile practices, ensuring a consistent approach and adherence to best practices. Responsible for managing operational dependencies at the tribe level including interlock resourcing needs. 

  • Managing dependencies across Tribes for scheduling and release timing. Facilitates stakeholder collaboration, ensure clear communication, addresses concerns to support successful delivery, builds trust with stakeholders and drive alignment. Champion Ways of Working and Agile culture, creating a safe and trusting environment for team members to share ideas and take appropriate risks.

Purpose of the role

To develop scrum principles and sprint goals aligned to industry best practices, and the banks objectives, to foster a high-performing technology team and support the successful progression on scrum projects. 

Accountabilities

  • Management and fostering of a high performing engineering team, by providing high quality technical guidance and support to resolve complex challenges aligned to the banks technology practices, industry best practice and the banks business objectives.
  • Identification and implementation of process improvement initiatives to enhance the technology development process in an efficient and effect manner.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and innovations, actively contributing to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence and growth.
  • Collaboration with business stakeholders, developers and other technology teams to ensure technology initiatives align with business objectives, security policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
