Join us as a Senior AI Engineer, where you will play a critical role within the Corporate AI, responsible for designing, building, and scaling advanced AI and Generative AI (GenAI) solutions across Corporate Banking. The role focuses on translating complex business problems into secure, scalable, and production grade AI systems, leveraging modern machine learning, large language models (LLMs), and cloud native platforms.

To be successful in this role, you should have experience with:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing end‑to‑end AI and GenAI solutions, covering data ingestion, model development, retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG), backend services, and user‑facing interfaces.

  • Building and optimizing scalable AI pipelines suitable for enterprise deployment, ensuring robustness, performance, and operational resilience.

  • Applying advanced machine learning, deep learning, and natural language processing (NLP) techniques to solve real‑world corporate banking problems.

  • Optimizing GenAI architecture and codebases for performance, cost efficiency, security, and scalability & support adherence to model risk management, data governance, and responsible AI standards, working in partnership with Risk and Compliance teams.

Some of the Highly Valued Skills may include:

  • Strong hands‑on experience in Python and PySpark, with a proven ability to develop production‑grade AI solutions.

  • Practical experience applying NLP techniques, including text classification, summarization, semantic search, and embedding‑based retrieval.

  • Experience designing and implementing GenAI architectures, including RAG‑based solutions.

  • Strong understanding of cloud‑based AI platforms, with hands‑on experience using services such as AWS SageMaker, AWS Bedrock, and Snowflake Cortex AI.

  • Proven ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets to drive data‑led decision making.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
