To be successful in this role, you should have below skills:

  • Strong understanding of enterprise design principles to build secure, fault tolerant and scalable systems.

  • Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, SRE and CI:CD.

  • Strong hands-on development experience in Java or Python any other programming language.

  • Strong understanding of release and change management process (ITIL).

  • Understanding of Git (or similar) source code control system.

  • Understanding of build automation and dependency management tools such as Maven/Gradle.

  • Experience of providing people leadership too small to midsize teams.

  • A strong work ethic - team player, creative, passionate, and disciplined.

  • Ability to provide technical leadership to complex technical problems.

Some other highly valued skills may include below:

  • Working experience of IaC and Automation tools such as Ansible/Chef/Terraform.

  • Working experience of event bus products such as Kafka.

  • Experience in testing methodologies like TDD, BDD etc. and testing automation.

  • Ability to understand how and where third part products could be deployed. Good knowledge of vendor evaluation and selection best practice.

  • Excellent understanding of architectural and design patterns (e.g., Domain Driven Architecture, Event Driven Architecture, Adaptive and Responsive design, Infrastructure as Code, AAA - Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting etc.)

  • Experience of API development using REST / SOAP.

This role is based in our Pune office.

Purpose of the role

To apply software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response, to ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems, platforms, and technology through them. 

Accountabilities

  • Availability, performance, and scalability of systems and services through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and capacity planning.
  • Resolution, analysis and response to system outages and disruptions, and implement measures to prevent similar incidents from recurring.
  • Development of tools and scripts to automate operational processes, reducing manual workload, increasing efficiency, and improving system resilience.
  • Monitoring and optimisation of system performance and resource usage, identify and address bottlenecks, and implement best practices for performance tuning.
  • Collaboration with development teams to integrate best practices for reliability, scalability, and performance into the software development lifecycle, and work closely with other teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
