Explore locationJoin us as a VP - Business Analyst at Barclays where you will spearhead the evolution of our infrastructure and deployment pipelines, driving innovation and operational excellence. You will harness cutting-edge technology to build and manage robust, scalable and secure infrastructure, ensuring seamless delivery of our digital solutions. The Data Analyst serves as the bridge between business requirements and technical implementation. This role requires deep understanding of data mesh concepts, data virtualization and having a “data-as-a-product” mindset, and the ability to translate complex source data structures into clear, implementable target schemas. The analyst will be responsible for producing comprehensive source-to-target mapping documents that guide the engineering team in building data ingestion and transformation services.
To be successful as a VP - Business Analyst , you should have experience with:
Analyse and document source system data structures including ISO 20022 XML messages (pain.001, pain.002, pacs.008, camt.*) and SWIFT MT messages (MT102, MT103, etc.).
Create detailed source-to-target mapping documents specifying field-level transformations, flattening logic, and data type conversions.
Document business rules for transformations and data enrichment logic.
Work with source system teams to understand data semantics, optionality, and edge cases.
Identify data quality issues and define validation rules.
Support UAT by validating test scenarios and expected outcomes based on mapping logic.
Understanding of Data Virtualization, treating “data-as-a-product” mindset and data mesh concepts.
Proven experience creating source-to-target mapping documents for data integration projects.
Experience in XML/XSD analysis and understanding of hierarchical data structures.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent documentation and communication skills.
Some other highly valued skills may include:
SQL proficiency for data validation and analysis.
Experience with data lineage and metadata management tools.
