This is an exciting opportunity to join Barclays as VP – Alternative Investments Distribution, Private Bank. You will be part of the Strategic Solutions Group and will be responsible for Alternative Investments in Private Markets and Hedge Fund Distribution in Singapore. You will liaise and coordinate with internal stakeholders including Private Bankers, Investment Advisers and Private Bank executives to help co-ordinate the distribution of Private Market funds, Direct Investment, and Hedge Fund opportunities. You will also be the product expert in front of clients and private bankers and will be the primary escalation point of contact for such stakeholders. This will often involve dealing with senior bankers, Managing Directors and Team Leaders and managing issues from start to finish. In addition, you will support other global locations during the marketing and distribution phase of each fund launch.
You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in the role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, as well as job-specific technical skills.
To be successful for the role, candidates should possess the following skills or experience:
- 10 years or more experience in private equity, private debt, real estate, or hedge funds
- Excellent capability in the Microsoft suite with sufficient presentation skills
- Ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial approach and work with integrity; willingness and capability to drive new businesses with a high degree of independence / responsibility are essential
- Will have a pragmatic ‘can-do’ attitude and be proactive and flexible in accordance with the changing environment

Purpose of the role
To develop and manage the success of specific financial products and services, providing in-depth expertise on a particular product line, bridging the gap between product development, marketing, sales, and customer service.
Accountabilities
- Provision of SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks and compliance.
- Identification of market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, and analysis of data obtained from sales figures and, customer feedback, to support the product strategy and development process, and communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders to improve and implement new product offerings.
- Response to colleague and stakeholder inquiries, resolution of issues, and provision of guidance on product usage. .
- Presentation of the advantages and features of the product to potential customers and stakeholders, building trust and encouraging adoption.
- Assistance with the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as brochures, presentations, and online content.
- Participation in and delivery of training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Participation in events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to showcase the product and generate interest.
