Financial Intelligence Unit External Engagement and Intelligence Lead

As a Barclays Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) External Engagement and Intelligence Lead, you will be responsible for managing the ongoing identification of emerging and key threats through the use of strategic and data driven intelligence, and will be a key point of contact for the Americas Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) in engaging with law enforcement and industry peers to assist in disrupting financial crime to mitigate risk to Barclays, the US and the global financial system.

What will you be doing?

•    Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including law enforcement, regulators, and industry peers as appropriate to identify and address relevant threats
•    Assessing the impact to the Bank and ensuring relevant outcomes from intelligence led activity are embedded in the business and with other internal partners
•    Establishing and maintaining metrics to identify financial crime trends and patterns, including SAR trend reporting 
•    Coordinating with data analytics, technology, and transaction monitoring teams to run queries to run queries against large data sets in order to identify financial crime trends 
•    Identifying, evaluating, and resolving gaps in relation to internal controls and processes as identified through the review and assessment of intelligence outputs
•    Contributing to and providing oversight and quality assurance of outputs produced by the team
•    Attending senior management and oversight meetings to provide updates on FIU outputs and emerging risks 
•    Working together with other investigation, intelligence, and risk teams within Barclays 

What we’re looking for:

•    Four-year college degree or international equivalent
•    Five years of AML Compliance and Bank Secrecy Act or other relevant experience
•    Three plus years of intelligence gathering and/or external engagement experience involving complex and priority financial crime related matters
•    Five years of Microsoft Office applications and Internet search tools 

Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of multiple financial services products including card facilities, correspondent banding and international wire transfers 
•    CAMS certification, CFE, JD or other advanced degree or certification
•    Experience using link charts and network analysis tools to interpret large data sets
•    Law enforcement or government agency experience in intelligence development and gathering
