Hybrid Working 

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

Develop Applications and Data engineering pipelines with machine learning components to support Barclay’s fraud technology. An important component in any ML based platform is data,so good understanding of data technology is a must. 

To provide the technical solutions and guidance to the engineers. Laydown strong Engineering road map for the team and the projects we are involved. Provide guidance on Cloud strategy and drive an high quality engineering practise with in the team.

What will you be doing?

    Agile software development in Java / other languages , Cloud technologies – AWS , Openshift.
    Delivering production-grade code with excellent quality.
    Development experience of Microservices / Rest Services , Data Pipelines & Services for analytics.
    Delivering solutions within a DevOps environment with a relentless focus on automation of testing and deployment 
    Recognising, selecting and applying appropriate design & data patterns, frameworks according to business benefit, maintainability and delivery priorities and constrains.
    Maintaining agreed standards applicable to the work undertaken and ensuring that these, and other mandatory standards and architectures, are adhered to. 
    Training and development of the technical and organisational skills of junior programmers.
    Analysis, estimating and prioritisation of tasks
    Creating and refactoring programs in accordance with the design, following relevant code management procedures and applying agreed coding standards. 
    Taking part in reviews of own work and leading reviews of colleagues’ work. 
    Completing assignment work to budget, time and quality requirements, including a combination of performing operational support tasks to agreed service standards and supporting enhancements or other technical projects.

    Support BLP of application, Data Pipeline, Data Derivation, Data Mapping and Data Modelling, Visualisation Development. 
    Creating the required plan and technical delivery road map and design.
    Help in building right platform , design and finalising the tools 
    Inputs to the functional document creation.

What we’re looking for:

    4 year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
    10+ years of experience developing medium to large Applications using different Cloud technologies like AWS , Openshift.
    5+ years of experience in spring boot, Rest API & Microservices.
    3+ years of experience in Containerised apps using Docker, Kubernetes. 
    2+ years of experience in streaming data applications; Kafka
    Proficient in native AWS services – Kafka, EC2, ECS, EKS, S3, Lambda, ELB, Amazon API Gateway, Cloud watch & Elastic Beanstalk.
    Proficient in NoSQL DB – Aerospike / Dynamo.
    Proficient in IaaS scripting – Terraform / Cloud Formation.
    Proficient in configuration automation – Chef.
    Ability to troubleshoot various problems/errors encountered by federated team while developing  ETL applications. 
    High-level knowledge about other technologies like Hadoop, Teradata, Oracle, Mainframe etc. It will help to develop efficient Ab Initio code interfacing with those technologies. Understanding of Data Engineering using Spark / Scala / Python.
    Hands on experience in Shell scripting.
    Hands on experience in atleast two scripting languages – Ruby, Groovy, Python & Java.
    Experience in AWS security management & administration.
    Proficiency in developing, deploying, and debugging cloud-based applications using AWS.
    Ability to use the AWS service APIs, AWS CLI, and SDKs to write applications
    Understanding of the AWS shared responsibility model
    Ability to write code using AWS security best practices (e.g., not using secret and access keys in the code, instead using IAM roles)
    Understanding of the use of containers in the development process
    Good understanding of security aspects of application and data.

    Excellent communication skills – verbal & written
    Self-motivated, passionate, well organized individual with demonstrated problem solving skills Experience in building distributed Machine Learning systems
    2+ years of experience working in an Agile development methodology
    Experience with project management tools: Rally, JIRA, Confluence, Stash
